Ethical Design
Ethical Design, we banter this term around. And while I am sure there are many interpretations into the exact nature of this, some focused on people and some on planet, for me the essence is the same.
When we consider what we do and how it affects others, then we embrace the intentions behind any ethical action. When we pay people their fair share, when we consider our waste and packing in our products to reduce our footprint on monther earth and when we seek to offer a product or service that adds value to another, then we are being ethical.
Its not a bunch on words on a document, its not a company philophy, its how we move through every facet of our day in every way.
Its not always easy, systems are set up that make this hard, but when I honour the poeple who work with me to make this all happen, when I push the limits of waste minimisation and when I consider the end user in all aspects of what I offer, I am being ethical. Its an action not a word.
To all those New Zealand companies embracing simular values and actions. Good on your and thank you.
