Planet - The third part of my Why

Passion, People, and Planet

The Planet is something that I have been deeply concerned about every since I was a little girl. I remember my geography teacher saying to my Mum when I was just leaving High School, that if the planet had her and me fighting for it, we would be okay. While that statement was far fetched, I remember feeling the realization of just how important the planet is to me, and how I wanted to tread as lightly on this earth as possible from a very young age.

It's informed so many of my choices in my life. From composting and worm farms (which drove my family crazy) to buying sustainable, organic, and local as much as possible. Fairtrade, quality working conditions, earth-friendly practices, and local businesses are all key to decisions I make every day.

When we respect others, we cultivate within ourselves a deep respect for what sustains us. When we focus on the natural world around us, we start to notice the force that allows us to live here.

Recent events with COVID 19 has shown me, as I hope many others in the world, that mother nature doesn't need us, but we need her. And by respecting our home, changing our decisions, and aligning to live more in harmony with everything in our surroundings we will ensure our survival. In fact, its the only way we will survive.
