My Why

My Why - Being the change I want to see in the world

There are three core ethics that have informed every decision along the way,  People, Planet and Passion

People

The People component is all about supporting local. So many people asked me if I would manufacturer off shore. Sure it was cheaper, but I think we need to support the people who support us. We need to invest in community and we need to realise investing in our neighbours is actually an investment in our neighbourhood. All the businesses that I use to support my business are local, family run business here in NZ, based in Auckland, Tauranga and Hamilton. It makes the product more expensive in the short term but the investment stays here in New Zealand benefiting us more in the long term. Its also more personable to have actually the met the people I do business with.

Planet

The Planet component is all about choosing materials that have social conscious, timber that is FSC approved, natural oils for finishing and reducing waste. The packaging is all cardboard which is be recycled or composted and which has a recycled content already. There are no jointing components, so no little plastic bits packaged in little plastic bags. The fittings too can be smart packed, which means reduction in transportation size and cost.

Passion

I have a image I see every day. It reads, “Things that excite you are connected to your purpose, follow them”. I want to be agent for positive change in this world. I believe you either are the change or you chase the change. So by choosing to use my talents and skills doing something I love to do, I hope I am inspiring others to dare to dream their dreams. And even more than that, to dare to dream them possible. When we stop doing what we think we should be doing and start doing the things that brings us joy, that are driven by our passion, then we create from a place that’s contributes immensely to the world around us. And the joy I see transferred onto my customers, that’s such a gift.  You have to show passion to inspire it, and you have to inspire it to receive it.

Namaste - The light in me, sees the light in you.
